The Complete List of MTG Arena Codes to Redeem (Updated for Ikoria)

So you just started playing Magic: The Gathering Arena and are looking to spice up your deck. The good news is you don’t have to spend money right away. There are a number of redeemable codes out there you can use to obtain some free packs, card sleeves, and card cosmetics.

This guide contains all of the publicly available codes in MTG Arena as 07/02/2019, and will be updated as new codes are released.

Keep in mind these MTGA codes can be case sensitive.

Free MTG Pack Codes

There are currently four promo codes that will provide you with free packs in MTG Arena.

  • PlayIkoria: Provides 3 free Ikoria Expansion packs
  • PlayTheros: Provides 3 free Theros Expansion packs
  • PlayM20: Provides 3 free Core Set 2020 packs.
  • PlayAllegiance: Provides three Ravnica Allegiance packs (Valid til July 1, 2020)
  • PlayRavnica: Provides three Guilds of Ravnica packs (Valid til July 1, 2020)
  • PlayWarSpark: Provides three War of the Spark packs (Valid til July 1, 2020)
  • OneBillion: Provides one War of the Spark pack

The first three codes are promo cards included in every physical MTG pack. The code OneBillion was introduced June 4, 2019 to celebrate one billion MTG Arena games played since inception.


LevelUp: Grants two levels of EXP, allowing you to gain some bonus rewards from the new Mastery system and Core Set 2020 packs РNew as of 07/02/2019 

MTG Card Codes

There is currently one code that you can use to redeem for free cards.

  • MythicMagic: Provides three randomized Mythic Rare cards, one from each WAR, RNA, and GRN deck. Expired 07/02/2019

MTG Card Cosmetic Codes

Instead of shiny foil cards, MTG Arena provides cosmetic upgrades to enhance the visual appearance of cards. The codes below can be redeemed for your card aesthetics. Note these codes don’t actually give you the copies of the cards themselves though.

MTG Arena Cosmetic Cards

  • EnlightenMe: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Narset, Parter of Veils
  • FoilFungus: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Deathbloom Thallid
  • InnerDemon: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted
  • OverTheMoon: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Arlinn, Voice of the Pack
  • ParallaxPotion: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Revitalize
  • ShieldsUp: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Teyo, the Shieldmage
  • ShinyGoblinPirate: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Fanatical Firebrand
  • SparkleDruid: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Druid of the Cowl
  • STARTERSTYLES: Provides cosmetic upgrades to Luminous Bonds, Divination, Doomed Dissenter, Llanowar Elves, Viashno Pyromancer, and Meteor Golem, plus the Embossed Arena Basic Card Sleeve<span style=”color: #ff0000;”> (Expired July 2, 2019 at 7am PST)
  • Superscry or PremiumScry: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Opt
  • WrittenInStone: Provides a cosmetic upgrade for Nahiri, Storm of Stone

All of these codes expire on January 1, 2023 except for STARTERSTYLES so be sure to use that one quickly.

Physical MTG Deck Codes

MTG Physical Decks

Many of the physical Magic: The Gathering packs and decks also contain codes for Arena. They usually let you redeem the exact same physical cards you received online. The codes are unique and only redeemable once.

You can also find these decks in stores near you. The codes expire July 1, 2020.

Expired Codes

These codes are no longer active, but it’s still good to know what they provided at one point.


The GameAwards promo code expired December 16, 2018. Redeeming the code provided an Esports Starter Kit which contained the 25 cards below.

  • 4 Merfolk Branchwalker cards
  • 4 Conclave Tribunal cards

Twitch Prime Promotion 

This event expired June 26, 2019. Users who had a Twitch Prime or Amazon Prime subscription could redeem codes for a free 60-card Boros Legion deck. Talk about value! If you missed this one, don’t worry – Twitch Prime may do another one down the road.

How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes 

To redeem a MTG Arena code, simply go to the Store in game, type in a code in the “Redeem Code” box, and hit Enter.
